Interview with Siadhal Magos, CEO and co-founder, of Metaview.

Everyone loves an origin story. What is Metaview and why did you start it?

I started Metaview back in 2018 with my co-founder, Shahriar, with the mission to build the AI co-pilot for recruiting. As a former product leader at Uber, I saw first-hand that a company’s interview process has the ability to dictate whether they win or fail. In spite of its importance, the interview process is still super unreliable, prone to bias, and full of drudgery. So that’s what we set out to change with Metaview.

Right now, Metaview is the AI assistant for interviewing. It completely removes the need for recruiters to take notes during interviews, because our AI is designed to take world-class interview notes for you then help you create your write-up in seconds. The result is recruiters are saved from the drudgery of note-taking and can instead spend time on what actually matters: being present, curious and engaging with candidates, then making high-quality decisions based on insight, not memory.

What do you think Metaview does differently from your competitors?

We’re hyperfocused on supercharging recruiters’ productivity since that’s where we’ve seen and heard from our customers that there is the most opportunity to have a game-changing impact. Another thing that makes us stand out from the competition is that our AI is purpose-built for interviews specifically, so the accuracy and relevance of notes is orders of magnitude better than generic meeting summarization tools. Finally, we have an obsessive focus on quality and have been able to fine-tune our models with over 5 years worth of interview data to ensure the best accuracy available.

For RecOps folks, what do you think are some key questions they should ask when evaluating everything Metaview has to offer?

  • What effect on efficiency can we expect our teams to experience as a result of using Metaview?

  • How do you recommend rolling out Metaview for maximum impact across the organization?

  • Why is Metaview the best alternative to competitors?

Part of RecOps is advocating for a tool to budget holders like Finance and TA Leadership. Imagine you are on the RecOps side of the fence. What arguments would you make for why you need Metaview?

  • Supercharged efficiency: Metaview has a measurable impact on recruiter efficiency and productivity. On average, Metaview users save 5-10 hours per week. That’s time that can be reallocated from the low-leverage task of note-taking and write-ups to higher-order work like deepening relationships with candidates and collaborating with hiring managers to bring in the best talent for the org.

  • Improved candidate experience: With Metaview, recruiters no longer have to worry about furiously typing notes in the moment to catch everything that was discussed. They can instead be present and engaging with candidates to both provide a better experience and get maximum signal.

  • More informed decisions: With Metaview, we’ll get 10x better data about every candidate we speak to, because we’ll no longer rely on people to remember everything that was discussed. Instead, we can be sure we are making unbiased decisions based on facts, not memories.

How do you think RecOps folks can help drive meaningful changes in your space?

RecOps folks are in a unique position to be the leaders of driving AI adoption in their organizations. They can keep recruiting teams ahead of the curve by staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI in Recruiting and test/advocate for new tools that can level-up hiring processes.

What do you wish people knew about Metaview that isn’t obvious?

The benefits of Metaview extend beyond just the time-saving element. Metaview provides visibility into what’s going on in your interview process so you have a perfect record of everything that was discussed to make decisions based on facts, not memory. Metaview also gives recruiting teams the opportunity to level-up the value they bring to an organization. With the perfect data that Metaview provides, recruiters can deepen their collaboration with hiring managers and contribute even more to well-informed decisions.
